Here is a record of my super-long day last Friday! Check this out:
3:35 AM: Woke up! (my boss had called me at 7:30 pm the previous night and said, "hey we need you to go to Georgetown tomorrow to convert their data so can you go please yes thank you?")
4:15 AM: Left the house and drove to my coworker's place in Somerville to pick up a toolkit. I saw him in his jammies!
5:02 AM: Arrived at the airport and found a pretty good parking spot next to the door to Terminal C.
6:00 AM: Bought a little breakfast of tea and a Luna bar and got on the plane. I finished my book on the plane (The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo -- VERY highly recommended).
8:20 AM: Landed at the Baltimore airport (wayyy cheaper than Dulles or Reagan) and took a cab to Georgetown.
9:50 AM: An hour and a half and $80 later, arrived at Georgetown.
10:00 AM: Got to our device and started backing up data and doing other boring work-related things!
11:30 AM: Went to the Georgetown University Hospital cafeteria and ate stuff from their huge and awesome but expensive salad bar!
1:30 PM: Called the office, thinking I was done, but they had a ton of stupid crap they wanted me to do.
3:30 PM: Finally able to leave! Got into a taxi, hoping to go to Union Station to catch a train to the airport, but I didn't make it in time, so the cabbie took me all the way back to the airport.
5:15 PM: Even though the cab took a lot longer, it cost only $60! Plus, this guy was so nice and interesting and told me all about the different cakes he had made in his life. And I took a little nap, too!
6:00 PM: Grabbed a slice of pizza and some cinnamon gummy bears and got on the plane! I did the crossword and then started reading the other book I brought (The Wonderful Wizard of Oz)
8:00 PM: Landed in Boston. In the parking garage, changed out of my work clothes and into my outfit for the "Ugly Christmas Sweater" party.
8:30 PM: Met Rachael at 1369 Coffee Shop in Inman square and drank some warm caffeine.
9:00 PM: Rachael and I met Ben at All Star Sandwich Bar to have a drink.
9:30 PM: Went next store to Bukowski's to meet some more folks, who were watching the Celtics game.
10:30 or so: The Celtics won and everyone finished their drinks, then we walked to Mae's place for the party! I had on a sweatshirt that Sammy's uncle (I think?) made. It was purple and had a big owl screen-printed on. Not Christmas-related, but tacky nonetheless. The party was super-packed and super-fun.
2 AM? Left the party. Sammy was nice enough to be the designated driver, so we were able to get back to JP pretty quickly!
3:00ish: Remembered that I had to send some data to my coworkers. Sent a few emails and prayed that my words made sense in the morning.
3:15 AM: Finally got to bed! Yay!
