I just canceled the interview I had for tomorrow. Basically, I just wasn't pumped up about it, and I didn't want to go through tests and 3 hour interviews for something that I wasn't excited about. Probably cost myself 20 grand, so I'm kind of insane, sure, but strangely, I really don't care. I was going to go just to check it out, but as its not far from Boston, has more traffic, is not really any closer to home (10 mins), and would require another 8-10 hours of work a week, its just not the direction I want to be going.
So I'm going to take my vacation day and chill. Maybe surf the internet, maybe buy a few Christmas presents. I could go in and cancel my vacation day, but I really don't feel like it.
As of now, I'm going to stay on the original plan and see what my review in January brings me. Although I highly doubt a significant salary increase, it is possible. Other than that, if I see something I really like, I'll go for it, but my priorities are much different now. The pendulum has swung back the other way.
