What should i do?

Ok i am not sure what to do.

The thing is my flight home for thanksgiving. I admit i am quite worried about getting to my flight on time. It's a 6:30pm flight out of the miami airport and i am coming straight from work. I had the office block off my 2:30pm patient slot (though in general they're crazy for wanting me to see 8 patients each day), and if the day goes smoothly i am hopeful that i can get out of the office by like 3pm. In that vein, i should get to the off airport parking lot by 3:30pm, and i just another 15-20 min to get to the airport. That should get me there with 2 1/2 hrs to spare to get through the check in and security line.

But what if things dont work out that smoothly, as often things do not! It is entirely possible to be delayed by an hour or so at work (i have often had my last patient at 2pm and not gotten out of the office till after 4pm!), or the off airport parking lot is full?

But there is even another more realistic problem. That is the airport. The miami airport has like 8 or more gates (i cant recall off the top of my head!) but half of those gates are for american airlines. That is because they are a big carrier for latin america, and well miami is the gateway for the americas! But the american international terminal is currently closed for renovations, so everyone goes to the same terminal to check in. So when half the airport is going to the same terminal, the chaos ensues. When i flew out on a friday at like noon, it took me quite a while to get through security and get my bags checked in, so on the day before thanksgiving, its gonna be crazy! It may really take a while to get to my gate!

So i came up with a possible solution. In two words: first class. :D I have enough frequent flyer miles that i can do a one way upgrade to first class. First class has their own check in which would make that major worry gone. Security is still the same bullshit, and then maybe they'll actually feed me on the plane! (please sir i want some more!) But the airlines are cheaper and cheaper these days. i have enough miles, but i gotta pay an extra $50 on top of that! Though, american now makes you pay $15 for your first checked bag (which i will be), but not if i'm in first class. so it's a relative price of $35, which is better. So is $35 and the majority of my frequent flyer miles worth it? I am thinking so, but i do not feel certain!
