Well, I just spent the past few days in the Washington DC area. And this time the time difference really kicked my butt. I enrolled to take this 3 day seminar and hopped onto a plane on Thursday morning. Spent the bulk of the three days (8am-5pm) after that inside the conference room. It's always nice to learn, but I didn't really get to go about the city. I've been to DC a few times, and this time I was hoping to catch the beginning of the Cherry Blossom Festival that was next to the Jeffereson Memorial. I did get to see the cherry trees, only the festival ends at 5pm so unless I ditched class (which I didn't) I would miss all the people. I still got a few nice photos from it, but nothing too spectacular from my pocket digicam. I don't think I'll ever take a seminar on the East Coast again, just because if a class starts at 8am over there, that means I have to be bright eyed and bushy tailed at 6am my time - not to mention I need to wake up even earlier just to get there. Ugh. Anyhow, I'm glad to be home where it's alot warmer.
I really appreciated having Monday off to recover because I have no idea how I would even function at this morning. Woke up feeling like someone ran me over. Speaking of running things over, I had complained to my car dealership about this squeaking going on in my car for quite awhile. So they took a look at it with the 30k mile service. They kept it for a few days and said they found nothing. So the weekend before last I decided to drive home to LA on a whim. And I was at a gas station just filling up and looked inside the rear right wheel where I heard the sound mostly coming from...and what do I see, a nice thin piece of wood about 4 feet long wedged between the gas tank and an axle. I was like...hey this is not a stock part. So I pulled it out and the squeaking was gone. Now how in the world did a certified mechanic miss that. I thought the squeaking was something more complicated. At least extracting a piece of wood from under a car is a relatively painless experience.
