A Little Bit of Everything

Thanks to those of you who commented on my last post.  I had been having such a terrible day, and had been so stressed out and tired over the last week or so.  It felt good to just get it all off my chest.  And I feel so much better, and am so happy to know I've got such great friends out there.  *huggles*

A new bit of upsetting news, I learned that my stepbrother passed away a few days ago.  He isn't exactly my stepbrother, but my father and his mother have been together for so long now that I consider her family and call her my stepmom.  And, truth be told, I didn't really know him too well, but we had met a couple times and he was always very nice to me.  He had been in a car accident.  I just feel so bad for my stepmom, Shirley.  I can't imagine the pain she must be feeling as loosing her son.

I feel bad for moving on from the topic...
Borders closed its doors last Wednesday.  A group of us from work got together for drinks and kareoke at T.G.I. Fridays and had a really good time.  I neither sang or drank, but I did enjoy myself.  I'm going to miss some of the people I worked with and hope they all find something and wish them luck.  These last few days I've been subbing at Montessori.  I'll be there the rest of this week (aside from today, which I have off) and all of next week, until they look at their schedule and figure out what they'd like for me to do next.  I love being around the kids and I get along well with all the teachers.  At least I have something to do until I find something another job.

This last Saturday I worked for my uncle's casino business.  I haven't dealt roulette in a while, but I had a lot of fun and had a great table.  Plus, a lot of my good friends fromt he casino were there, so we all had a blast.  I even made a $10 tip from this one couple who were really sweet and stayed at my table all night.  On our way to the party, my uncle took us to dinner at a Persian restauraunt, and it was really really good.  We all had some kind of meat, I had filet mignon, and a different kind of rice. Mine had berries in it and it was soooo good.

And that's really all that's been going on in my neck of the woods lately.  The weather has been really nice lately and all I've wanted to do is go to the pier and sit and read.  One of these days I'm going to do it. Recharge my batteries.  And I really need to sit down and catch up on all of you.  I've been lurking on my friends list, and leaving random comments, but I miss you all and want to catch up.

Hope you all are doing well.
