Oh, what a boring day it has been. My only day off aside from Christmas day and did I do anything exciting? Not in the slightest. I managed to wrap my P. Family Secret Santa Gift, and the P. Family would be my family. I drew my cousin Matt's name, and let me just say, that out of everyone, he was the easiest. Matt is the oldest of the Grandkids, and the only grandson, which makes him The Prince. Anyway, Matt has recently gotten back into drawing (he works for a skateboarding company, and lately has been doing some work designing not only skateboard art, but t-shirts), so for Christmas I got him all set up with art supplies.
I had a nice conversation with my over the phone. We were going to talk via Skype (which is amazing, btw), but the connection was down. We talked about our holiday plans, and I told her the gifts I got my sister Darla, Darla's boyfriend and his kids. She asked what I wanted for my birthday, and when I told her my Disneyland annual pass was going to exspire, she said she would renew it for me. I think my mom is the only person who doesn't make fun of my love of all things Disney. And, speaking of my mom and Disney-related things, one of the other things we spoke of was our trip next year to Disney World. We're thinking of going some time in October, during the Food and Wine Festival, and we are very excited. I can't think of a better person to experience Disney World with for the first time.
Book-wise I haven't gotten very far in The Bookman. I haven't really had the chance to sit down and read. I'm a few chapters in, and so far it has been a smooth, easy read, and I hope it stays that way.
In the Writer's Corner, I sat for a good few minutes at a blank Word document, trying to add on to a sentence. I've had an idea going 'round in my head for a while now, and have settled on how the story starts out, but I can't seem to get passed the first sentence. Which, in case any of you are wondering, is nothing more than: "[insert character's name here] hated magic." *frustrated sigh* It's there, in my head, but I can't seem to make anything work.
Any suggestions from you writers out there? What helps you get started?
