I am so glad I don't have work tomorrow, because I am looking forward to sleeping in. And I mean seriously sleeping in. The kind where I might wake up around 9am, but close my eyes and snooze for another hour or so, and when I am fully awake, just lounge in my pj's doing nothing until I feel like getting out of bed and being productive. I don't have class tomorrow until 5:30pm, so I'll have time to spare.
Just a little while ago I got back from dance class. Yes, you read that right: dance class. My Aunt DeeDee asked if anyone would want to join her in taking a line dancing class, and at first no one was interested. I felt bad, so I went ahead and said I'd join her, and turns out my cousin Rebecca said "Why not?" too, and the three of us had our first class last week, and tonight was our second and my Aunt Debbie tagged along (although, she did teasingly threaten me during a break that she was going to get us all back for talking her into coming, lol). I'm not much of a dancer, but it's still fun, and I get to hang out with my aunts and cousin, so it's all good. That, and it's a great workout.
Today was Ash Wednesday, and I nearly fell asleep during Mass. I don't think I've gone to Mass since last Ash Wednesday, and always tell myself that I should go to church more often than I do. For Lent I decided to give up fast food, which means no more Del Taco or Wendy's or anything like that for the next 40 days. I eat way too much of it, and have been meaning to change up my eating habits, so I'm hoping this will help. I went to the grocery store the other day and stocked up on healthier food and plan on actually eating three meals a day instead of skipping breakfast, eating whatever for lunch and then attempting to figure out what to have for dinner only to settle on cereal or nothing.
This morning I covered V's opening shift, only I left at 2 rather than 5:30 (so I could go to Mass). Work was so BORING. There was nothing to do all morning, and at one point, after finishing up all the morning paperwork and processing the returns, I caught myself up on work stuffs (policies, upcoming events, etc.) and at some point pulled out a piece of printer paper and began to draw. I tend to doodle during my breaks, or when asked to recreate one of the outfits we have on display. Curious to see what I drew?
She's not finished in the slightest, but eh, I liked how she turned out. Mermaids are one of my favorites to draw, lol, go figure.
Or I draw random faces. I think this is supposed to be me as my alter ego Meadow Brook. A few weeks ago, Yach, one of the girls I work with, decided that we needed what she called "hippie" names. There were only three of us working, Yach, Jazmin and myself. Yach, seeing how she likes fire, named herself Fire Storm, Jazmin became Moon Child, and since I'm an Earth sign but love the water, I became Meadow Brook. I guess you could say that that's me as her up there, with random things in her hair (they are supposed to be leaves, a twig, pearls and in the center of the flower in my hair is supposed to be a pearl as well).
And, when I don't have printer paper handy, I draw on whatever I can find. That would be a paper towel that happened to be there in the backroom when I felt the drawing itch, lol. And, can you tell, by the three pictures above, what profile and hair style I like to draw? Oh, and in case you are wondering, the dvd under the drawing is Nicholas Nickleby.
