Interview Meme

Apr 28, 2008 15:35

1. Leave me a comment saying, "Interview me."
2. I respond by asking you a couple personal questions so I can get to know you better. If I already know you well, expect the questions may be a little more intimate!
3. You will update your LJ with the answers to the questions.
4. You will include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the post.
5. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions.

Here is what

elledoll asked me:

1. Favorite Historical Figure
This is actually a pretty hard question, but I'm going to go with who I think was the first person that really sparked my interest in the past, and that would have been the Grand Duchess Anastasia.  It began after watching the animated movie back in 1997 and then learning that the main character was an actual person.  Her life was that of a fairy tale princess, only she never had a happy ever after.

Over the years, I've learned more of the lost Russian princess, along with her parents, brother and sisters.  There seems to be a little bit of each of the Romanov girls in me, and after my 23rd birthday at the end of the year, I will have outlived the oldest of Nicholas II daughters, Olga (who was 22 at her death, only three months shy of her 23 birthday).

2. Favorite Childhood Memory
Wow, I'm not sure what I could consider my favorite memory from my childhood.  Sometimes I like to forget I had one, lol, but I did have plenty of happy times way back when.  For instince, I loved sitting on the floor in my Dad's room as he played quitar or as we watched Star Trek: The Next Generation (for me, I really only stayed for the opening credits, but it was the fact that I spent time with him, even if it was only for like 30 seconds).  I loved going down to Solvang with my Mom, Richard and Darla.  We would always stay at the same Motel6 and always go to Anderson's Pea Soup (where I was the only one who never ate the soup).  It was a "Danish" town, so there was a mini statue of the Little Mermaid, which I loved, a doll shop named Nathalie's (where I got the first of my Madame Alexander Little Women dolls), and best of all was the fact that I could get aebleskivers!!!!

3. Best Holiday
Christmas.  Okay so sue me, I love getting presents, but that's not the only reason.  To me, Chrismas is the time of year when your family gets together, traditions are alive and there is nothing but warmth and love to go around.  It's also the end of the year, which means everything sort of starts over at the end of the year.  It's the spirit of giving, the love and compassion that I love about the season, which is forgot about with all the crazy gift buying and sales and whatnot.

4. How has your Favorite Music Artist or Genre Effected your Life
My favorite music artist is MUSE, and I discovered them a few years back and realized: I'm not alone.  There was just something about their music that hit me.  Their lyrics are amazing and something I can relate with easily and their music is mindblowing.  Matt you rock on that piano!

Don't know if that much explains how they effected my life, but sure, lol.

5. Favorite Guilty Pleasure
Anything Disney.  It keeps me young at heart, and it just...is me.  My family (or, most of it) can't stand my love it and think I'm just a big kid who needs to grow up, but there is something about Disney that keeps me going.  The movies and music I loved as a child have more meaning for me know, and without it, I don't know what I'd do.
