I'm really appalled by how asshole-ish people can be.
REALLY appalled and upset. I was pumped for something and suddenly BOOM I'm not. Well, I'm not going to let ANYONE tell me I can't do something. I can do ANYTHING I set my mind to. ANYTHING.
And I can DEFINITELY pull off R-Mika better than many. I WILL look great AS R-Mika. So shove it up your bum if you don't like it. Seriously. I workout and work HARD to portray characters. To me, it's not about sewing and MAKING ALL YOUR COSTUME FROM SCRATCH OMG, it's about becoming the character and acting/portraying them. Looking like them, posing as them, and looking great doing it!
Granted, I wish I could sew, but I'm not blessed beyond simple hems and simple patterns/beadery/boots/armory. But very cheap and basic are my skills. YET my point is I don't cosplay only for the handicraft part of it; that's a more minor part. It's for love of the characters/acting/photography. And add a bit of sexy and poof!
