I want to try tamago kake gohan. :) Has anyone ever tried it? (Basically, hot steamed rice mixed with raw egg!) I think I'm going to...I mean, I've had food poisoning before, and salmonella is a very slim chance if you properly handle the eggs!!
Life is too short not to live, and raw egg is (surprisingly) used in certain traditional Japanese meals such as sukiyaki! I love all sorts of eggs, scrambled, fried, over-easy (squishy as I call them)...and eggs in an egg sandwich are heaven!
I mean, when I do go to Japan, I want to try all the traditional foods I can (Maybe no more nattou unless mixed with rice hahaha!!)
Salmonella...big whoop~ And raw? I've had sashimi before..(Not much, just a very little bit of salmon. I prefer sushi to sashimi definitely.) ..and I didn't get sick from that. But surprisingly, I DID get sick from a bowl of steamed rice and cucumber rolls. Meh.
I think I'll buy some fresh eggs tomorrow. :3
