...yeah, same old shit.
It has been busy here. Am finishing up the annual load of things for Dewey Beach, so I have 3 more days of nonstop sewing to try and get as many items done to ship out on Thursday. I did get all the ornaments done, which turned out quite nicely. This year I had greyhounds hanging off of icicles and candy canes, and the Dewey special was mermaid greyhounds. Or merhounds. Or whatever.
I really enjoy making these ornaments; not only do they allow me a creative outlet, but they oddly provide a sense of satisfaction that I don't get anywhere else. I have begun to hate the buddy bags and Napsacks that I sew, as they are pretty much the same thing over and over, which is monotonous. And the dog pjs are only as creatively stimulating as the various fabrics will allow. I really need to focus more on the ornaments and the other sculpting ideas I have running around in my head. Unfortunately, I have a bunch of costumes I promised I'd help make for a parade, a hole in my bedroom ceiling that is not fixing itself, bedroom furnishing to sew and three rooms, two bathrooms, and an entire house full of trimwork to paint. Which sadly, at this point, leaves little or no time for all the little sculpy greyhounds in my head to come to life. To which I can only say, "Crap."
At least hockey season has started, so that's a positive note!
