The dog is still gimpy, but I'm sleeping in my bed tonight, thank you very much, the couch is evil. However, I will wake up around 3 am to let him out, because the steroids he is now on make him pee constantly. My god, it's just like having babies all over again, 3 am wakeup, special food, the works. Is this what life is...get your own kidlets grown (more or less) and out of the house (more or less) and then you do it all over again with pets? What the hell was I thinking? Am I a masochist? An idiot?  And while I ponder those questions, here's another for you. Why the hell CAN'T elephants jump? That's been bugging me for a while now. How do you know? Has anyone ever seen them try? Did someone do some physiological tests or models? But then that would just be theories, right? Or supposition, not actually proven, unless you've actually pushed an elephant off something and seen for yourself that he doesn't jump, he just goes "plop". And there's some elephant in some zoo somewhere (saw it on the news, can't remember the locale) who refuses to get on the $10,000 treadmill designed especially for it to help improve its quality of life, although it HAS already lost 1000 pounds just from diet and lifestyle modification. Bet that one doesn't jump for anyone. And now that my elephant rant is finished and I am presumably aneurism-free, I am going to bed.
