I had a good birthday. Work was not too busy and I took some TOIL and left half an hour early, caught the train up to town and bought summer shoes I can wear at work at
my favourite shoe shop. I bought
light shoes and
snazzy black ones (some of which will be paid for by birthday money from Steve and the grandparents). After this I zoomed down Oxford Street at a brisk walk for coffee near Tottenham Court Road with Marysia, Emily, Helen and Steve. It was lovely to see them, and I even got brilliant presents - lovely little candles in china bowls, a sparkly dragonfly card, yummy homemade marzipan chocolates and a gorgeous glass that would fit most of a bottle of wine ;)
I have of course, already opened some of my presents... Here are the highlights:
mostlyarmed got me Spagyrics by Manfred M Junius and a Shirley Bassey CD.
Jenny got me Alchemists Handbook by Frater Albertus - with those two in hand I told Steve we need a garage :D - a reflux condenser would come in handy!
Steve got me Die Hard 4 (Bruce is a DUDE and lots of explosions - cue happy me) and Airplane 1 and 2 which I had never seen before - very funny (and Shatner is insane).
Sorita and David sent me this brilliant book
Beaded Felt Jewellery - so who wants felt jewellery for their birthday?
Plus to top my day off Steve sent me this....
brilliant psycho-knit site. Plus we are having the Heinz salad cream = ambrosia (me) versus salad cream = concentrated evil (Steve) debate...
Here's hoping this post made sense, since I left the house at 5:15 this morning.
