I've got an idea. How about those people who are denied the right to marry and extend benefits to their significant others just don't pay any more state taxes? How can you tax someone who does not receive the same benefits that every other (hetero) taxpayer receives? I think this

No, most people who oppose gay marriage are against the ceremonial aspect of it. They will say that they don't mind allowing 'civil unions' - which carry the benefits that gay couples want and deserve - but that they're reluctant to call the union a marriage, since that's not what it is. I reserve a very special sort of irritation for these assholes, because it's these people who are so self-righteous as to think themselves more deserving of love and acceptance than the people who are different than they are.
Everything that is fucked up in our world stems from religious fanaticism. Why don't people see this?
