I've been slacking on updating

Life is hectic. So at the current moment, it's raining and the wind is gusting like crazy. Hurricane Dolly hit land yesterday, and we're still getting some of the outer bands. Last night was down right frightening. The wind was so high, I thought we had a tornado pass by.

Yesterday morning was Ryan's neurologist appointment. We had to be there at 8:30am. The doctor's is an hour away in Corpus. It rained the whole way in. We get in there and sign in, fill out the new patient paperwork, and get vitals taken and put in a room to wait. The doctor was running a little late because she also was an attending physician at the hospital (next door there is a pediatric hospital).  She comes in and is very nice, talks with Ryan, asks me questions, does a crap load of physical and intellectual stuff with him. He's pacing back and forth the whole time. When she's all done, she says that he is missing some of the critical things she looks for in Asperger's, but he has explosive episodes, so she wanted to do some lab work and schedule him for an EEG. She also gave me a prescription for Clonadin for him to take at bedtime to help him sleep. We went upstairs to the lab, and Ryan is being so good for me, doesn't even know what is about to happen. I don't really know how to tell him, because I don't want him panicking. They call us back and put him in the chair and she starts looking at his arms and getting stuff ready, he's still calm. When she poked the needle in, he goes OW, and I tell him to look away, it will be done soon, and he goes to the lady, hurry up! Says ow a few more times and hurry up a few times, but he did AWESOME! She took like 6 vials of blood, and he didn't cry a bit. Put a bandaid on him and we left. I gave him a Jolly Rancher and myself one. We had to sit in the hospital hall on the floor for a few minutes because I was getting dizzy. He's my little trooper. I love him so.

Eric is flying in at 8:47 in the morning. I am excited. I can't wait to be with him again.

Tomorrow afternoon I have to take Thumbs, my new orange tabby shelter cat, to get his rabies vaccination. Also need to make an appointment to get him neutered. He's the sweetest cat ever. He got the name Thumbs because he's a polydactyl... extra toes that look like thumbs on his front paws.

Monday is my thyroid biopsy at 6:45 am. Eric will go with me. Tuesday I have an ob appointment. I also want to see if I can set up the 4D ultrasound while Eric is down here, I hope I can. I want him to see Lily.

August 14th is Ryan's EEG and then his follow up neuro appointment after that.

Oh.. one more thing. The neurologist was schocked that they kept telling me to come pick up Ryan from school. She said they aren't allowed to do that. He is a citizen and deserves an education just like everyone else. They just don't want to pay for the extra help that Ryan needs during school. So this year if they pull that *you have to come get Ryan* bullshit, I'm going to tell them to shove it.

My life is peachy right now. I love my fiance. I love my children. Even with all the stress going on, I'm pretty content.
