Why do I bother?
On rereading my craigslist plea, I guess I did sound a tad like I was willing to extend sexual favours for a ride
Chimney-sweep-poor girl wants to go to the Orillia folk fest. There is no way I can afford a bus ticket, and I might be wrong but posting for ride on craigslist seems a tiny bit safer than just standing out on the highway. Whenever you are leaving is fine with me.
But...I didn't expect that the next time I opened my email it would be flooded with replies like this one
Hey, how are you? I could get you to Orillia anytime you want and was wondering if you'd be up for exchanging a ride for some sexual services, like a hj or bj maybe? I'm a clean cut guy in my twenties and could meet up before hand if you like to make sure I'm not a psycho or anything. Thanks and take care!
OK, sure dude. Anybody who trolls craigslist rideshare boards for places they are not going is definitely not unbalanced. I mean you could just go to the casual encounters section of craigslist, but instead you chose to look under rideshares. I was hoping somebody might reply saying "Hey we are a bunch of dumb hippies all going together in a car and we can help you out" Instead I got a lot of people who just left their names and numbers and a quick assurance that they could drive me anytime I wanted. Fuck men. Even though part of the reason for me going was maybe, just a little , a certain man. Still. Fuck them.
