9 to 5
At work...AGAIN. But apparently, this is a VERY temporary situation because...:
Mike got the contract! We're moving to Suriname for 6 months beginning in June (which would suck because of the whole tropical climate thing, if I didn't live in a steam bath already). He called me last night and he was really excited. He said it might shape up to be a little boring after awhile, but as long as we're together, we generally make our own fun. I can't wait to get pictures and start a journal of my new life.
I'm glad we're not going until June, that means our May trip to London and Barcelona is still on. I also get to spend two days in Paris ALL BY MY LONESOME. Which I guess would suck, if it wasn't Paris! I feel like any second now I'm going to wake up.
I was telling him about the Champagne Girls in Zumanity last night and he said," Huh, that sounds alllllright." Which is Aussie for, "How soon can we get there?!?" They're so good at sounding cool and aloof.
Okay, so Liam is an Olympic hopeful. Well, Liam's Mom is hoping he is, anyway :) You should have SEEN these kids. There was this kid, African-American, MAYBE 11, he was seriously cut like a body builder. And the smaller boys, 7-8, had more muscle definition than most 16-17 year old guys I know. They were doing things I thought ONLY Olympians could do. Turns out it's HIGHLY competitive, extremely prestigious. Liam showed much promise on the rings (he can do flips already!). He's also good at the bar, and anything to do with upper body strength and control. He's definitely going to have to work on coordination with both feet, but small potatoes. I have faith :)
So I'm addicted to coffee. I used to hate it, couldn't STAND the stuff. I'm up to three cups a day. :/
It's the rush. I also take caffeine pills. On the upside, I really really really quit smoking.
I'm going to start voice lessons again, now that I know I'm here for another six months. Ideally I'd like to be able to record before I leave.
Told my Dad about Mike and me gettin' hitched. He's excited. One of those that thinks you need a man or something. He worships Mike ever since they had this long phone conversation and he found out Mike has his act together. Puh. I'm chopped liver.
Annnnyway, I'm boring myself now. Going to book my hotel for San Antonio this weekend, the same place we stayed last time. But NO DRUNK RIVER WALKING!
