With the move to Texas, I was able to keep my Seattle job and work from home on the understanding that I would be able to pull off all of the Excel miracles I did while I was in-house and pending a three month review, I'll probably be able to keep the job. Which is nice because I like working from home. It's a little bit of a dream come true, actually, so it's nice to check it off of my life's to-do list. Unfortunately, there's a lot of pressure to perform and maintain good relations with people that I had a hard time working with before, so that's definitely a down side. I've been worried that I was going to get fired from this job for about a year now, so I guess that I should just relax and stop worrying about something that's unlikely to happen. And yet...
In other news, the new climate seems to be good for my overall health, so that's awesome. It's sunny almost all the time so I don't have my weather moodswings and the allergies are much less now, which makes quality of life better. It seems that as long as I'm out of the Pacific Northwest, all is golden. Which is a bit of a bummer because I do love the environment up there, but if it's a tradeoff for good health, I'm going to have to think long and hard about going back to live.
It's been too hot to explore very much beyond the occasional restaurant and grocery store, but I'm confident that it's going to get a little cooler and then it'll be on! Unlike the NW where everything's packed into the summer, life seems to really start happening around here late September. Probably because you stand a good chance of going outside and not melting into a puddle of goo. Soon there will be many explorations, I can just feel it!
So, just a little post to say all is well and that I'm reading lots of Big Bang Fics and I have many favorites so far, even though I've probably only scratched the surface on all of the goodies. It makes the hiatus easier to bear!
