How I Spent The Blizzard

My absence from here these last few days has a pretty decent excuse ... I was at the hospital with Cole. If you aren't my friend on fb or twitter then you had no idea, because I basically used those sites to communicate with everyone what was going on. When Sam stopped by our hospital room Tuesday night right before the "blizzard" I asked him to ( Read more... )

Aw, poor Cole :( And poor you!! I'm sorry you had such a rotten experience :( This sounds a lot like my experience at Mercy here in Monroe a few years back when my cousin was admitted--her fever was so high she was delirious and kept being ignored :\ I had to cause a disturbance just to get them to check her temp (I was afraid of it going high enough to cause brain damage) while I waited (and waited and waited and waited) for them to give her something to bring it down :\ She was seventeen at the time and because she was still a few months shy of eighteen, they would give her NOTHING until a doc signed off on it. I understand the whole accountability thing but why does it take six freaking hours to get a doc to okay some tylenol for a raging fever? ARG. Really made me miss the children's hospital in Austin--when I had to take Sterling in, they were always fantastic and on top of things. Hmmmm...ranty rambling over now, I think ;)

I hope Cole is feeling better soon and that the trauma of the craptastic stay you guys had fades quickly :)

See I was so clueless when I went. I'd only ever been during my pregnancies to give birth and it seemed okay then. The only thing I can guess it that we were on the bottom of the totem pole of severity and therefore not a priority.

That story about your friend is just awful. If there had been brain damage than I can assume she would of had a lawsuit on her hands.
