Fantastic weather.
What a fantastic day. Leah and I went to Dallas to see the Darjeeling Limited. I recommend it. I spent too much money on gloves, a flask, a head scarf, pug shirt, and picture at Urban Outfitters. I should have just bought the cute hat I saw in the first place. It would have been less expensive.
We ate at a British pub. We had spiked coffees. Leah had cheese and crackers and I had an Irish breakfast. It came with Bangers, which I never knew were so yummy. We saw the movie. We didn't buy beers like we usually do at the Angelika. The sky was sooo pretty as we were driving home. I played Midlake. The perfect cd for the evening. We agreed on not being obsessed with Radiohead, just like we agreed on never getting the whole Nirvana thing. I surmised that it must be that we are snobs.
I'm looking forward to being alone this winter. I can focus on taking care of myself. I've also committed myself to wearing red lipstick.
I put my application in at a publishing company downtown, because I can't afford to get an apartment on just a TA salary. That way I could get some experience and decide if I would like publishing or if I should just stay on the academic track.
My birthday is coming up soon. I'm excited. I want to do something low key with good friends. Go to art museums, have a beer. Sit around and talk.
