My piano lessons don't go so well anymore. Because I only have a digital piano (which has weighted keys, but it's really not anywhere near the same as an acoustic), my finger strength is not so good. Right. So. Piano lesson was terrible as predicted, had a massive cry about it. It's just really frustrating, because my teacher doesn't have much experience teaching upwards of grade 6. Most days I don't want to go to uni because I feel that I look awkward and fat. I realise that this is irrational, but it happens. A lot. I just spent my Sunday writing (most of) an essay about French Ars nova and Italian trecento music. It was rather productive, though I did whine about how 1500 words is clearly not enough to properly cover the topics. Okay, so apparently when I said that I'd like to work on some harder piano pieces, my teacher gave me grade 8 pieces. The last grade I sat was grade 5. Wtf, Sam.
