the one with two lists of things
Things That Are Irritating Me To No End Today (in no particular order):
1. Being asked if I buy shoes because I "want to give them a home". No, while I make some pretty irrational decisions about buying things I have never once thought "oh, this pair of shoes looks lonely. I will buy it and give it a home." I am not that stupid/weird. The fact that this was asked of me by a friend I have known for 10+ years worries me.
2. being informed that because my fringe parted itself a bit due to the fact that I hadn't hairsprayed the hell out of it, that it was "annoying" and "needed to be fixed". This is from friend in point 1. Seriously, it's MY HAIR and I'll let it sit HOWEVER ANNOYINGLY I WANT IT TO.
3. being told REPEATEDLY that I waste too much money on things. That's MY PROBLEM. FFS why am I friends with this person.
4. People being all "oh, I can't go and see The Artist. It's too CULTURAL. I want to go and see Underworld instead." Why is it that people immediately go OMG THIS IS NOT A REGULAR HOLLYWOOD FILM I WILL CLEARLY NOT ENJOY IT. Look, I've had this friend tell me that Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy was CULTURAL. Er so pretty sure it's JUST A SPY MOVIE NOT SOME INCOMPREHENSIBLE ART FILM. I would still argue though that even if a film IS incomprehensible plot-wise, IT CAN STILL BE ENTERTAINING HOLY JESUS WTF. I could rant about this all day, and a sub-rant is How We've Made "Art" Music This "Cultural" Thing That Actually Makes People NOT WANT TO GO TO CONCERTS BECAUSE THEY'RE INTIMIDATED/THINK IT'S AUTOMATICALLY BORING.
5. people making assumptions about what I like/don't like/aspire to/WHATEVS.
Things That Are NOT Irritating Me Today (equally in no particular order):
1. being alone in the office, away from people.
2. my morning soy caramel iced coffee and OhNoTheyDidn't browse.
SUMMARY:
1. The one day I just explode with YELLING at Friend from first list I will have plenty of ammunition.
2. caffeine makes things more bareable.
