Things That I Do Not Really Understand:
1. Why, when you tell people that you're doing a PhD they say "ohh that sounds hard, what are you doing it in?" and then you reply "music" and they say "Oh, that must be fun". NO IT IS NOT ARBITARILY MORE FUN IF IT'S MUSIC. A PHD IS A PHD. Jesus.
2. Why people have decided that today is the day that they fail to communicate with me in a way that doesn't make me want to slap them. For instance, when I ask what is appropriate to wear at a specific venue because I've never been there before when it's a sold out gig, you don't need to reply with a big rant about how there'll always be someone less appropriately dressed at a gig than you. I KNOW THIS. I HAVE BEEN GOING TO GIGS SINCE I WAS 16. I WAS ASKING SO I DON'T WEAR JEANS AND SWEAT TO DEATH.
3. Why when people say "I'm having a break from uni after exams" and you reply "Lucky", do they take this as you meaning OH MY GOD I WISH I WAS NOT AT UNI. All I am saying is that it is lucky for you that you can have/are having a break. Not actually related to my feelings towards being at uni/having breaks personally at all.
4. Why people complain to me about having work contracted to them, when it is ME who is missing out on the income they get by having the contract. I mean really, DO IT OR DON'T DO IT, I COULD USE THAT MONEY FOR ENGLAND BUT HEEEEY NO WORRIES WHY DON'T I JUST LISTEN TO YOU RANT ABOUT HOW IT'S "SUCH A PAIN".
5. Why can't I concentrate. This is just getting annoying now. Tomorrow I will hopefully be better. I even force myself to read stuff, but then none of it gets absorbed and it ends up being a waste of time. FRUSTRATING.
