the one with the foo fighters, references and phd-ing
You know, after having been provided with a couple of references lately, I'm starting to wonder how much folk make up when they write you a reference, how much is true, and how apparently wacked my own opinion of my "scholarly" abilities is.
So there's that.
And then there was the weekend when I did nothing but German revision and go to see THE FOO FIGHTERS OMG. It has been SO LONG since I'd been to a gig with a really charismatic front man. Oh Uncle Dave, you could tell stories all night and we'd stand there and listen. SUCH A GOOD SHOW. Will definitely be paying to see them again this year when they come back for the proper album tour. SO GOOD. OMG.
Anyway.
I apparently have stumbled upon the Optimum Way of Wording My Thesis So That It Sounds Like I'm Doing Something Legit. Supervisor checked my scholarship application yesterday, was all OMG THIS IS SO GOOD YOU CAN DO YOUR DOCTORATE NOW THIS IS EXCITING WHAT A GOOD CONCEPT YOU BETTER GO POST THIS BEFORE I JUST KEEP TALKING ABOUT IT. All I can say is, thank freaking Christ. 9 months that took. 9 goddamn months.
HOW MUCH DO I HATE STILL HAVING NO HOME INTERNET? ONLY SO MUCH.
