the one with early resolutions and a (boring) christmas wrap up

Dec 27, 2008 15:33

Well, my Christmas was pretty bollocks but I was entirely expecting it to be as such. Thankfully this year we did not however have the Mother and Grandma Yell and Cry Show as we did last year.
I got:
- three pairs of Hello Kitty pjs.
- some money.
And that's it. On Boxing Day I was still recovering from being incredibly stressed from family-related-stress, and consequently did very little save watch the Boxing Day cricket test. I am so very glad Christmas is over.

Early Resolutions for 2009:

1. Give Honours the best attempt I possibly can. If this means getting the first class honours I need to get the PhD scholarship, that's awesome. If not, simply not to stuff it up from lack of trying.

(1.1 Get first class honours).

2. GO TO CHOIR. I am so short of "hobbies" that going to the choir at uni seems like a really easy way to have a hobby. Plus, at $100 a semester, it's actually quite cheap. It may seem stupid for me to do choir after hating doing aural so much, but when it comes down to it, choir is just singing. The worst part about aural was the part work and the individual tasks, not the ensemble. I won't have time for piano lessons in '09 so this is also a way to keep doing practical music.

3. Have breaks from studying 24/7. Doing EVERYTHING ALL THE TIME is not going to work. I aim to have one designated day off per week, and to only work on uni stuff during the day which means stop work time is at about 6pm (or dinner).

4. Make time to see Sam and have coffee out with Bob.

5. Stop panicking! (There is no chance to me achieving this one). The world is not going to end because of anything to do with my thesis and most likely the problem could be easily resolved by talking to one of the lecturers about it.

6. Learn to not hate my appearance. I am five foot five, B-W-H are 32"-28"-37". Currently I am convinced I am fat and incredibly unattractive. I'd like to be able to get dressed in the morning without freaking out about whether something makes me look fat and then not leave the house because I'm too ugly to be seen by people, by the end of 2009.

7. Following on from point 6, IMPROVE MENTAL HEALTH. While I am aware my mental health is never going to be awesome-great, even okayish would be better than what's going in my head these days.

8. Eat more curry. I like curry.

9. Save some money up.
