So. Today we (my brother and I) took our dog Dusty to the vet to be put down. It was incredibly sad, as we've had her since I was eight. It's almost exactly the time of the year it was when we got her too. :( Plus she was mostly Dad's dog, and well, he's dead too. She was such an awesome dog. She was a purebred blue cattle dog and I'll miss her loads.
I think my accent is having a bit of a crisis. Generally when I'm around Bob or friends or uni people I have a reasonably Queens English kind of accent. This is a step down from what it was when I was first at primary school, because kids made fun of me. When I'm around my brother and mother most of the time my accent will fall to a broad-ish Australian accent. Now, I've been developing a New Zealand accent. Which gets used, like all the time. Wtf bit of the brain that does the speech bit. I understand the changing the accent to fit the social context thing, but I do not spend time with New Zealanders. I blame this entirely on watching the Flight of the Conchords television show. Well, the bright side of this story is that if I manage to get a job in the UK somewhere I should be able to absorb the accent and assimilate within a week.
