the one with being an idiot

The thing I most hate about asking lecturers questions is how often it will inevitably end up making me look like a complete moron. This morning I went to get some help from Dr Perry on my theory assignment. Of course my brain was completely asleep and while I am quite capable of doing complicated theory stuff, answering questions about it in the morning is just something I cannot do. Apparently. Possibly the most embarrassing thing was that I just could not, for the life of me, identify that the chord in bar 3 was chord IV. Wtf, brain, wtf.

So I ended up with 29 out of 40 for my first theory assignment, which is not particularly good for me, but better than I had expected. Mostly because I completely screwed up my analysis (wrong key, etc). I got perfect marks for the piano composition question, which was the same topic I had gone to see Dr Perry about. So he was quite confused as to why I needed help. Though, looking at the analysis I had done on the current assignment kinda answered that question.

I am so tired. My ear is ringing (as it usually does) and my brain is just running over some solfa song I need to know, and I just want quiet.

Mmmmdinner...

food, theory, uni, brain is stupid
