hopes are up again

TJ's dad's company is looking for an accounts coordinator. It's like dispatch, but with a LOT more responsibility.

I interviewed with the guy who would be my supervisor yesterday. We talked for an hour and a half and then we went to a company truck and he played me some of his synth guitar recordings, which were actually really good. I also learned about how he met his wife, who is a musician. Also he has a son who sings opera for a living, is only 20, and last year made enough money to spend a month in france studying without a job. yeah.

I really would like to be able to do this job, and the way I mean that makes the syntax perfect. It's a lot of responsibility, a lot of pressure, and a lot of different things every day. Not a ton of cold calling, no research for cold calling, but calling people that the company hasn't seen in a few years and reminding them to repair their equipment, stuff like that. In addition I'd be moving the company to a fax-based dispatch, to save money on technicians billing for hours that they're sitting drinking coffee at the office, and implementing a TON of new regulations. So essentially I'd be "breaking wild mustangs" as Steve put it. And the rest of the job would be Access and Excel.

I think I can do it. The scary scary part would be the commitment they're looking for from me. It's at least four years. Which means that if we move to Mt. View I'd be commuting back to Campbell every day. But I think I could deal with that, and I'd be leaving the house at the same time as TJ, so I think it'd be ok.

I want to do this. I want to get this job. I don't want to screw up TJ's Dad's business, but I think the chances of that are pretty remote.

Any feedback would be appreciated, I really need to think about this. Even Steve said he was gonna let me think for a few days and then call me again.
