(no subject)
a couple weeks ago our internet got cut off. the cable was still on, just no internet. so i called up the cable company to tell them it wasnt working and that id tried everything i knew to make it work. they had apperently cut our internet off because we had downloaded an episode of some hbo show )i forget the name, my brother downloaded it) and they tracked it to our ip address and since thats illegal, they called our internet service provider and told them to disconnect us.
when they told me this i was like, oh hell im going down! lol. but it wasnt all that serious. i had to go delete it from the computer (tho i dunno if they can tell if i did that or not) and called them back and they turned it back on. it really scared me tho. i mean, i had heard that they were "cracking down" on illegal downloading, but i didnt totally believe it.
from what i understand, they were specifically watching for downloads of this particular show. so i dunno if they watch random stuff or if its just certain things they watch at times. either way... be careful people!
