Highs and Lows of Infest 2012

Sep 05, 2011 17:50

Seeing as I did one of these last year, I'll make it two years in a row.

- Upgraded from the Hilton to the Great Victoria, which was indeed great. Crazy four poster bed in a red, white and black room which matched my wardrobe choices perfectly.

- No EDL or other assorted riotous assembly.

- Infact didn't go into Bradford town centre at all. I remember last minute hunts for tights last year.

- Listened to most bands. Highlights were mind.in.a.box, Hocico, Absolute Body Control and Code 64.

- Best VNV show I've been to.

- Ronan Harris made me cry. And laugh. And scream.

- New venue growing on me and not in a fungus kinda way. At least it wasn't midnight and raining when the fire alarm went off this time.

- Hip replacement conversation was extended to a request for me to bring body parts to Infest 2012.

- Managed to avoid being photographed all weekend aside from a few stageside shots of me front row at Parralox.

- Significantly less drama and revelations, good or bad. In fact all in all a very calm weekend. Are we all getting sedate and sensible in our maturity ?

- Great to see people I don't see very often. Is Infest the annual social reunion we flock to unlike Christmas ?

- Great to see people looking so well, and dancing.

- Ate actual food. Mainly at regular food times as well.

- Drank more Jager. Yum.

- Left with a cold. Bah.

And I think the last one was the only low. Damn good weekend.
