We did it! The women's varsity lightweight 4 won gold! We raced at the Augusta Invitational in Aiken, SC against Georgia St., Skidmore College, Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), the University of Tampa, and Johns Hopkins University. It was a tough race. Tampa was our closest competitor, but we managed to hold first the whole race. We rowed kind of sloppy because it's the first real regatta of the season and everyone was so pumped up and anxious...coach was so proud, though he said that he wasn't going to talk about our technique right then. LOL. With one week more to go, and then spring break training after that, our technique will have no choice but to improve, and then imagine how quickly we'll go! The whole team did very well. We won 2nd overall because our boats medalled in every race. Dartmouth was first overall. They're a good crew.

Our remaining regattas of the season (for anyone who may be interested):
John Hunter Regatta, Oak Ridge, TN, April 1-2 (I hope my family can come to this one)
Row Tide Regatta, Tuscaloosa, AL, April 8-9 (It's here in T-town! Come!)
SIRAS, Oak Ridge, TN, April 15-17 (The BIG regatta of the season. Usually around 144,000 rowers present)

:-D
