That is a gorgeous haircut! I'm glad you finally had a good experience!
I agree that hair salons can be scary places. I put off going as long as possible, and then I generally tell the stylist, "Just cut off the dead ends. Seriously. If you take my hair above shoulder-length, I will kill you. LOL j/k j/k." Except I don't actually say the last few sentences. I only think them.
Wow, what a neat story!! I can certainly understand why you didn't get a haircut for a couple of years. i can't believe the first girl didn't even wet your hair down! How scary!! I'd be terrified of hair stylists too. That's really cute you got a compliment on your hair right after you got it done at the beauty school. When I was in Duluth, I used to go to a beauty school to get my nails done and such every once in awhile. I never got my hair done there, but I really liked it for the same reason you do. I felt they couldn't botch things up too badly because there were instructors around and it wasn't some random vietnamese lady who wouldn't understand me if I tried to talk to her. You're lucky in that you can see what they're doing to your hair. I just have to trust that they're doing something good to it, lol. And i'm totally with you on not spending hundreds fo dollars on my hair. it makes no sense to me, either!! hugs, Dawnielle
Smile. I was my friend Kathy's ginnea pig when she went to cosmatology school. I had some, let's say, unique looks. She still does my hair after almost 30 years! Grin. A fun entry!
Thank you for reading! I don't have any friends who do hair for a living, I only wish I was that lucky (or maybe I don't depending how good they are...) :)

Same here! I always just want a trim because I really do want to grow my hair out. But that seems to be a hard concept to grasp at most salons.

Wow, I can't believe she didn't yet your hair before she started cutting, but I'm glad you got a better deal at the beauty school!

I've had several stylists not wet my hair down first, it's always a red flag for me now.
