Soooooo... I was going to post about yesterday's adventures, well... yesterday, when I got home, but I didn't because I was completely trashed. I ache all over, but it's the good kind of ache, and I'm glad of because it got me out of the house and into a whole day's worth of distraction.
What did I do yesterday, I hear you not asking, because you don't care? I went to the Turin Book Fair with my best friend Patrizia. There was no one of interest speaking - Monday's a wind-down day, of course. There was Luca Mercalli from Che Tempo Che Fa but the room was full and we weren't really interested. We wandered through the musical instruments and there was a woman playing the harp, and it sounded divine. No gong this year, though. Sad tiems. :'( The Nintendo stand was still going strong, however. I NEED PokéPark Wii 2. Ok, it's a kiddy game, but it's just so much fun! <3 The queue to humliate yourself using Zumba Fitness in front of a crowd of spectators was very long. Also, vinyl seems to be back in fashion. Not that I'm complaining - I'm probably one of very few people my age who can actually use a record player (how else would I play Mum's Santana, Glenn Miller, Beatles and classical music?), it looked good.
Milling around was fun, if tiring. Taking the piss of various nutty stands was fun too ("Oh look, it's those anti-abortion idiots, lol"). Spain was one of the featured countries - the other was Romania - but seeing as neither of us speaks Spanish we didn't stick around too long. It did give me some Spamano feels, though, imagining Romano dragging Spain around the fair and trying to stop him from being ripped off. X'D
We left after nearly five hours of wandering, and we headed up to the shopping gallery. The last train was 21:07, so we had plenty of time to kill. So, guess what? AVENGERS! FINALLY SEEN THE AVENGERS ASDFGHJKL!!! So. Much. AWESOME! Wasn't too fond of the Cap-and-Tony antagonism. I just wanted to shout "stop being so Ultimate, you stupid boys, no one likes Ultimate!", but when they worked together it was just so perfect and wonderful and gave me happy feels. I also adored Hulk. I didn't miss Edward Norton all that much. All the Clint/Natasha was gorgeous (shipping them, so hard), as was Fury's bastardry and Loki's being a total temper tantrum-throwing DIVAH. Thor and his perfect hair, and it even got me to like Maria Hill. And I really hate Maria Hill. Also, armoured space whales from another world! They're probably called something different, but to me they are space whales. Not happy about Pepper in hotpants. She's always seemed a sweatpants sort of girl to me, and I don't like Gwyneth Paltrow anyway. All very exciting and funny and AWESOME.
Also, we bought stuff! They do these really cute plushie diseases, viruses and bacteria and shit like that, and Patrizia bought three: a white blood blood cell for our friend Paola, who is studying to be a pharmacist, syphilis and the common cold. They sound horrible, but they're totally adorable. She also bought herself a beautiful kite which we are going to try and fly this summer, and more Panda Likes... books.
I got some books, too. A book about Elizabeth I for my mum, The Devil Will Come by Glenn Cooper for my dad and I Shall Wear Midnight and Watching the English (which is a humorous anthropological study of, well, the English. I couldn't help but get fic ideas for America's anthropological study of England. :'D) for myself. Also, other than books, a really cute pencil with a wooden violin on it (which makes me think of something Gakuen!Gilbert might get Gakuen!Roderich when he's trying to confess), Applejack and RARITY'S CAROUSEL BOUTIQUE (all paid for by Patrizia. She said, "You have a book budget and a pony budget. Have fun!"). RARITY'S CAROUSEL BOUTIQUE!!! It spins and has pretty music and ASDFGHJKL it is so lovely! TwT Also, with AJ and Rarity I now have all the Mane 6. I just need Apple Bloom and Scootaloo to complete the CMC, Spike and the Princesses. I'd also die for Princess Cadance and Shining Armour.
So, I am naturally very, very, VERY happy right now. Squee!
If y'all want to see photos, I can put them up soon. :D
