In the Midst of Molding my Future...
Where I am working now, I haven't been feeling at all noticed, or awarded, or wanted, or even needed. Whenever I ask for a better shift, a better position, better pay - I get the brush off, or the simple 'we'll have new things implemented in the months to come - be patient'.
I was sick of being patient. I went out, applied and was offered a brand-spanking-new job.
This job was willing to pay me almost three grand more per year, I would have Monday to Friday hours, full benefits right away, etc.
The day I got the call that I was to start at this new job on February 19th, I walked into my manager's office, letter of notice in hand... speech prepared
She told me straight out, 'if we up your salary and give you a better position and better hours... will you stay?'
I was not expecting that.
My current job is now going to be paying me almost four grand more per year than I am currently making. I get the shift I want (Monday to Friday) starting Monday, AND I get a brand-spanking-new position in April.
BUT!!! There is a catch... if where I am now does not PROVIDE what they PROMISED for April... the other company is just waiting for me to call them to start in May....
I. Have. My. Ass. Covered. Baby.
I feel like I make a difference to this company now. EGO BOOST WEEK, BABY!
