Wow! I wasn't expecting that.
It's apparently Adminstrative Professionals' Day (once known as Sectretary's Day).
There was a meeting this morning that I couldn't figure out why I was needed for it, but I drug my ass there on time and the whole purpose of the "meeting" was to honor the 3 people in our little department that could be considered Administrative Professionals! We all got cards and Barnes and Nobles gift certificates (we're about a half block from there - employees frequently come back with little green bags from lunch breaks) and then we got some silly dollar store stuff. I got two fairies and a ribbon. I'm just so surprised. And they all wrote such nice comments in the card. I guess it worked - I feel appreciated. (And, yes, I'm still just a temp - at that same insurance company since December)
