(no subject)
So, I froze my ass off at Ben's graduation and looked pretty at the same time. Quite an effort. Even his Grandmother said I looked good and she's a grump! Photos to come (Ben's mother spent a fortune on professional ones! I mean more than I earn in a week).
Ben got to sit up with all the academic staff on stage after getting the official handshake from some sort of chancellor. My god graduations are boring. They have funny music and funny looking robe things, and let's not talk about the Harry Potter hats. At least I got a free meal at the end of it. I can't believe his parents didn't book anything, though. We went to Strawberry Faire and it was full. We were quite lucky that Soi out in Evans Bay was pretty much empty when we got there. They had very good food and nice service, I'd definitely go back there (if I don't have to pay the bill). Oh! They made the BEST cocktail I have ever had. It was called Toblerone and it had vanilla vodka, creme de cacao and cream (I think). I got drunk off two sips (I hadn't eaten anything all day- that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it). The next night we made a booking for Strawberry Faire. I couldn't finish my dessert, I was so disappointed in myself! Next time I think I'll skip the token vege meal on the menu and just have the desserts.
Today was Queen's Birthday so I got the day off work, yay :) Kerry came up from Christchurch so we got to hang out all day. It was nice to catch up and to show him around my local Lush store ;)
I don't want to go back to work tomorrow. The best thing about tomorrow is that I get to wear my new bright pink lipstick :D It's fabulous, I swear.
