fashion, blah blah blah
we went to the mall today to get shawlene's hair cut (very cute it is, too!) and i tried on 101 pairs of jeans. the GAP long & leans didn't work (it would've helped if they'd had my size/length...) and everything else i tried on was less than spectacular, so i ended up getting a few more pairs of levi's 515 nouveau boot cut jeans. they were on sale (yay!), and my butt looks great in them. (sorry, jas, if this freaks you out.)
i also looked at shoes, but hated everything i saw.
when i got home, i took 5 pair of jeans out of my closet and put them into the goodwill bag where they belong. because really, what's the point of having 7 pairs of jeans in your closet when only 2 of them fit properly? the other 5 pair never get worn, because they look like shit; they're just taking up space.
then i dragged my 4 pairs of winter shoes out and took a picture of them, thinking i'd post it here, to illustrate my love of chunky shoes, but i realized after looking at the picture that the brown leather ones are REALLY scuffed up, so i decided not to post it after all.
i'm not sure why i hadn't noticed the embarrassing condition of my shoes before, but it was only obvious to me after seeing the picture that they look like hell! (but i will say this: they're all so very, very comfortable!) still, come fall i'm going to toss them all and buy new ones.
i considered, after processing the shocking reality of my shoes, taking pictures of all my clothes, because what if everything i own looks that bad, and i can't see it, except in a photograph? then i decided that was 1) way too much trouble, and 2) not likely, because a lot of my clothes are new, unlike my shoes. so you're all going to be spared photos of my wardrobe, at least for today.
