YAY! Well, I'm back home. I arrived yesterday....but decided not to report until today. I stayed home from church/youth group to recover and to prepare myself for school. Here it goes:
Friday, April 22nd-Got picked up from school. Got to go to house to round up last minute things. Slept most of the way to Scranton, PA. We stopped in CT and NY to eat.
Saturday, April 23rd-Made it to Tennessee. Stopped in West Virginia on the way. Went to Wal-Mart so that parents could pick up pants(it's colder than we expected down here). Saw a couple minute hails. I got a turtle t-shirt :) .
Sunday, April 24th-Stayed mainly in Pigen Forge. Went to Dollywood which is in honor of Dolly Parton. Dollywood is a cross between Epcot and Canobie Lake Park. It was so cold. I was freezing in my t-shirt and jacket. We saw Gradac Serbid (a group in native garb that danced and played instruments), Moscow Circus (a Russian group of performing people), Stix on Steel Trinidad (a group from Trinidad who play metal drums with Caribbean styled music), Dragon Legend Acrobats (a group of kids from China who did amazing stunts), and then Moscow Circus again. We went on the carousel, the scrambler, demolition derby, and smoky mountain wilderness adventure. At the carnival my dad won me a big stuffed pink cat. Got to call Gerry from room since we got free local and long distance calling.
Monday, April 25th-Went to Cristus Gardens. They had life-sized scenes of Christ throughout his life. Went to Ripley's Beileve It or Not!. Saw shrunken heads, people who got into bizarre accidents, and double-headed or extra-legged animals. Next Guiness Records. Saw tallest man, fattest person, and shortest woman. The tall dude was 8'11", the fatty was 1400lbs, the woman was 24" tall.
Tuesday, April 26th-Went to the Country Music Hall of Fame. Also went to Studio B, which Elvis Presley made famous by recording many albums there. Later went to Grand Ole Opry. (All in Nashville). The Grand Ole Opry is a group of many contry singers that is video recorded and done as a radio show (I was on the radio!!!)
Wednesday, April 27th-Went to Carton Plantation. Got a bit sick from lunch. Parents toured Andrew Jackson's place. Snuck into and walked through Gaylord Opryland. It was a jungle in there (literally!). Had my first gelato (I recommend it to all of you!!!)
Thursday, April 28th-Travelled to Kentucky. Stopped and visited Abe Lincoln's birth place, a museum about Abe. I worked on overcoming my fear of heights around open places. I did perdy goodish.
Friday, April 29th-Went to Mary Todd Lincoln home. Visited a Harriet Beecher Stowe museum and underground railroad. Made it to West Virginia. Travelled about 320 miles total today.
Saturday, April 30th-Travelled 600ish miles to New Hampshire. Got home about 8:45pm.
Miss all my friends! Can't wait to see you guys again!
