A different kind of pain, is very different from their self titled CD, if you're looking for something a more metal-ish. To contrast the two shows diversity, but to do it so differently between albums is bound to turn off some fans but also draw new ones.
I had to start Gn'R to wash the taste of that out of my ears. (what a vision that brings...)
Ahhhh, Knockin' on Heaven's Door........... I know it's sacrilege to many people, but I like this version much better than Clapton's. I don't even know what the original sounds like... but this one is wonderful.
As far as covers go, KoHD is a better job of it than "Live and let die". Not saying they butchered LaLD, just that they didn't give much to differentiate is from the Wings original, even though McCartney's butter-smooth voice and Axl's nasal rasp are nothing at all alike.
I really like LaLD, but not as much as KoHD (love the afh-like codes, a la TiTS :-). Those two really wake me up and get me "rockin'" (well, that's not the word I would use if I had a better one in my mind). I really hated their cover of Sympathy for the Devil at the end of the movie Interview with the Vampire, but I love it now. He can make his voice sound *really* evil.
Dylan, that sounds right. Heh. As far as singers go, he *has* to be a good songwriter. ;-)
I have to watch that later, behind the Army firewall right now. Not for long, though! TGIF!

Oh man, the title song just started, and it totally sucks. EW!
Okay, I should look for the other album (okay, CD, for those out there *ahem* who don't know what albums are), right? Maybe it will show up. :-)

IIRC, KoHD was written by Dylan. As far as singers go, he's a great songwriter ;-) See link
