RL: I contain multitudes

Nov 22, 2009 00:05

I was going to post saying “Holy cow it’s Friday already! What happened to the week?” only it is now Saturday. :(
Aaaand now it’s Sunday. :x

I had a strange and awesome dream last night. Involving zombies, Brendan Frasier, and vampires. I won’t get into details except to say that there was a zombie outbreak apparently a while ago, it was now mostly controlled and I was at a facility with friends where you could hunt zombies. Only it was run by bad guys who actually fed you to the zombies, but I was rescued by Brendan Frasier who was dressed like Rick from the Mummy. It was amazingly awesome and it just got better from there. Also his arms. Guh.

Random work annoyance rant.
Ma’am, I’m 100% sure that I did not tell you, last week, that your exam would be free. You cannot convince me of this, no matter how hard you try, or rant. Please, will all due courtesy, let me do my job. Pay and leave, don’t pay and leave, but stop ranting so that I may help the other customers lining up behind you.Ack. Other work mania abounds but that was the most aggravating today.

I have a test and a major project due this week. Thanksgiving break? Not so much.

In slightly random news. I’ve always had an ear for accents. I hear them and can start speaking them almost immediately. It's actually a bit uncontrollable. This can be rather embarrassing as I’m always afraid I’ll offend someone. However I’ve also found out some interesting things with this talent.

Some time ago, at work, one of the new girls was from Texas and had a sweet twangy accent. Which I instantly picked up. She never cared. The best thing about this? I found that people hard a difficult time getting mad at her. Her accent was just too perky. And soon I was speaking like her more and more often.

She moved away and soon my speech returned to my normal patterns, however, when I get flustered, or when a customer gets huffy(mean) at work, I start to slip back into a more southern twang. I say southern because, as I read more and more fics with McCoy in them, I’ve added some of those speech patterns into my flustered twang. Even some of the more southern endearments I know(not (not necessarily the ones from fics). So what have I learned? I can pick up accents even from reading them..

I’ve had the large urge to be more crafty lately. This usually happens to me around this time of year. I should finish up some of the jewelry sets I started a while ago. But I am a bit torn as to where my crafty-ness would be best expressed. Should I finish painting those plaques? Work on my jewelry and beading? Play around with those paper crafts I have? What about my sewing? *Is torn*

To end on a funny note my favorite MLIA quotes so far:

Today was superhero day at my school. Instead of dressing up as a superhero, I chose to be my own villain: Gotham City Animal Control. By the end of the day I had two Cat Women on leashes, a Batman and The Penguin. I like to think of today as an accomplishment. MLIA
(Batman. Enough said. Oh wait, Batman on a leash. ROWR.)

Today, my six year old daughter told me, with a serious face, that she firmly believes the black plague was a cover-up for the zombie apocalypse. MLIA.

Today, I was at work when I saw my friend was standing around wearing a sign that said "Free Hugs." So, I went on break and stood next to him with a sign that said "Premium Hugs, $1.00", I made $8.00. MLIA.
(I want to do this now.)

Today, my parents asked me why I just unwrap, peel down, and leave the wrapper of the lollipop on the stick. I told them it's so I can just throw them away together. My real reason is that it looks like the lollipop is wearing a cape. MLIA
(I have always done this!)

leonard mccoy has taken over my brain, rant what, accents, squealy-doom!, time flies
