My Adventures in The Secret World

Sep 25, 2012 22:52

I did the free demo for The Secret World. It's free, how can you lose?

There are three factions, the Illuminati, the Dragons, and the Templars. My character is a Templar. Her name is Amber Blue, code name Fidelitas (Latin meaning loyalty, fidelity - I thought it would be an excellent Templar name).

Is Something Wicked the main arc that runs through Kingsmouth ( ... )

It's not the main arc, at least I don't think it is. I picked it up from Norma Creed (had to look up her name). There was a suggestion at the end that there is more to it, but I'm not sure about that.

I'm also not sure what the main arc is. I felt like I was just chipping away at the mystery from several sides.

I should have a look at that Champions guide, if I return to that game (though I just resubscribed to WoW, at least temporarily). I had no idea what to do for my skills in Champions. I'm glad your friends are settling on a choice. :)

AH! okay. I was looking at that briefly but didn't take the quest because I wanted to focus on the other... which is weird for me, usually I'm a very "Take ALL the quetss!" sort of person.

The main arc is labeled 'main arc'. It's the one that starts with you getting the zombies by jumping on the cars and such then go out to talk to Norma about the Lady Margaret, etc etc. I haven't finished it, yet.

I'm likely going to just re-up my subscription for TSW when my 'free month' runs out since NCSoft 'kindly' (heavily loose on that kindly) refunded my money for CoH -.- I can play full card on Champions any ways. I enjoyed it. And i'm going to keep an eye on the Origin sales for the half off. I have a sneaking suspicion we'll see another on Black Friday stuff.

That huge pile of Champions guides has made Champions a LOT more enjoyable for me to play now that I'm not spending 3/4 of my time dead.

Re: the main arc -- oh yeah! I remember that now (about it being labeled).

I wasn't taking all the side quests either, but I usually picked another one up whenever I finished one. Just to have choices.

"...a LOT more enjoyable for me to play now that I'm not spending 3/4 of my time dead."

Heh! I can fully relate! That's why I avoided PvP for a long time. I could never keep myself alive.

Well it's not fun to die constantly. It's a feeling of futility. I have the same thinking with running and jumping platformer games. That sense of dying and having to go back to the beginning because I am not quick enough to jump at the right time. SOOOOO frustrating.

I play games to relax, not frustrate myself! XD Which is why I get annoyed when people attack TS3 for being 'too easy'. The funny thing is? How many of those people use cheat codes? ;) I like that I can PLAY without constantly cheat-coding the frustration away!

City of Heroes and DCUO make me feel heroic because I can actually fight and stay on my feet more than I don't. Champions seems to be improving in this respect. I die occasionally, still, but since I tweaked a few things, I'm not hugging the dirt more than I'm saving citizens.
