ive been in a funk all week but today was SO fucking good

woke up at 7 to do habitat for humanity with all the interns
that was kind of annoying but building a house proved extremely gay and got to use power tools so... extra dyke points there
my right arms are muscley and i got my work out for the day with some cigarette-bearing construction dudes
also, woodstar provided both breakfast and lunch, and i know that means nothing to anyone reading this, but woodstar is my crack and the number one reason i whither away the second i leave noho and so i was all about it

after construction, we had a nice little picnic on chapin lawn and played with crazy smith squirrels
then me and christine (the other asst rd) decided it was rope swing time so we announced that that was what was going down
only two people showed up but it was really cool
the rope swing is up the river from paradise pond and you can either get there by taking dirt trails or boating/swimming upstream
id never been there and it was an experience i really wanted while at smith so we went
we had a cool time. i discovered that i have no upper body strength, christine almost stepped on a crayfish the size of a dick. 10 year old boys laughed at us and dogs swam with us. it was neat.
it got cold and drizzly and we decided we would come back in july when we have breaks - so i hope that does happen.

christine peaced and one of the interns (shelly) stayed behind because she lives off campus so she chilled with me and i gave her some shower supplies and we shot the shit
swapped early baby gay stories of first girl friends and first girl crushes and showed off embarrassing pictures, and by the end of 3 hours i had gained the "so what do you think i should do with my hair?" trust - which is my ultimate in crossing the border from polite acquaintances to buddlets
its cool to have a lez-bud to go through the summer with, and shes super chill. sometimes i just need reassurance that im actually capable of making friends and of thinking people are up to my standards. im too judgmental. but shes cool and im excited about actually genuinely liking at least 3 of the people im working with. which is a lot more than i expected.

anyway, so then we had to meet up with all the interns again to go to osaka for some delicious hibachi. i caught some broccoli in my mouth and yelled ridiculously inappropriate things in public and a good time was had by all. again, im just really glad to know i will have friends this summer. christine, schraugs, shelly, and i are a good quad. there are some others i think are cool but i havent gotten to know them yet - but there are also some i definitely know ill be facading around with and thats a pain in the ass. but i thought itd be that way with everyone, so my joy about today comes from the realization that facades are not abound. woo.

okay, so after that, we grabbed some alcohol in the smith van - which is probs not legal - and went to king/scales where we'll be living in july to have a party. schrauger, christine, and i are the only ones who have keys to that entire house (er.. houses?) right now so we left all the doors open, blasted music from schraugers hr suite in scales (might i mention, i have the king hr suite and its fucking SIIIICCK - ill post pictures on facebook eventch  but i have a living room with furniture already there, a bathroom with a tub, and a bedroom with TWO fireplaces and curtains!). eventually, schrauger and i deemed it naked time and streaked from scales through king (because when else can you do that) and with a little help, everyone was naked. ugh, smith college. we played hide and seek, rubbed ourselves on all the furniture, drank the last of our rum and cokes and called it a night.

it was a sick ass day.
