Shiva was bitten a few days ago by a Pitt-bull.
Luckily she is fine although he did bite off a large chink of her skin. She was so lucky he didn't go for the neck or puncture the lungs.
I am posting the pictures so it would not happen to anyone else.

Thank you for mentioning small dogs. I agree that both large and small dogs MUST BE ON A LEASH. Although it pains me to say that my dog has bitten a small dog, it was not entirely our fault. First off, our dog broke the rope she was on(won't happen again) and ran towards the small dog barking like mad a couple yards down. My guess was that she thought it wanted to play because it was jumping around and barking (it was not on a leash). So our dog ran over and jumped on it. The owners of the small dog though that hitting our dog with a rake would get her off their dog. Wrong. That just aggravated her and caused her to bite down. She did not take a chunk out of the dog, but apparently it needed stitches. She has always been on a leash of some sort, and before that incident, I had been walking my dog when the little dog came charging out and attacked us. My dog got protective and pawed at it, resulting in it limping away and the owner getting mad at me >:(
Anyways I know this is probably very long and annoying, but I just want owners to know that small dogs are not humans. They are dogs! They must be on a leash to protect themselves and others (that applies to both large and small dogs).
P.S. I know this is late, but I hope your dog wasn't traumatized or anything.
