The air crackles and pops, and then the voice drops to a graveled tone. “He’s coming, Sam, he’s coming for you, and he hasn’t forgotten.”
Wonderfully creepy moment.
Keeps Dean safe because Sam’s afraid of that one moment when he’ll reach for Dean and touch bare skin and burn his brother raw.
Oh, boys.
With a heavy breath, he looks to the night sky where the stars are watching, and he wonders if his parents can see him. He thinks of the old woman and smiles.
He claps his hands, once, and the world explodes into fire around him.
I really like this ending, the nod to John and Mary and Sam’s utter determination and then that blast of fire. Nice.

I love that he practices control - that his freakout is limited and short by necessity. And that he agrees to come when the demon finally arrives. Quite the trojan horse Sam has made of himself.

It'd be interesting to rewrite this after the season finale. I think he'd be a lot more destructive with his newfound power now. Hm.
