Justin sat on the bed, tucked into the corner as tightly as he could without becoming one with the wall. Lance studied him a moment before stepping into the room. Justin’s knees were pulled up in front of him and he'd wrapped his arms around them. His chin rested in the dip between his knees. He watched Lance expectantly.

"It'll be fun," Lance tried again.

Justin unfolded himself from the bed and walked slowly over to Lance. "It's a Halloween party, Lance. Every day around here is Halloween - or have you forgotten?"

Lance shook his head and absently traced a scar on his arm with his fingertip. "No, Justin, I haven't forgotten. But it will be something different than every other day around here - something that we all need." Justin looked as though he might actually be considering the idea. Lance wiggled his eyebrows suggestively and was rewarded with a small smile. "I'll make it worth your while," he teased.

"Yeah?"

"Yeah."

Justin nodded. "Ok," he relented. He slid one arm around Lance and hugged him briefly before walking out into the hall towards the large room.

The room had been cleared of the tables that normally took up so much of the space. Pin the fang on the vampire was set up on one wall and there was a small group of people gathered around, smiling and laughing as someone stuck something to the wall, hanging a fang on the vampire’s ear. A tub was set up for bobbing for apples in another corner with another small crowd gathered around it. JC was submerged up to his shoulders and Chris had his hand flattened on JC’s back. A smile lit his face and he waved when he saw Justin and Lance. In a corner, someone had set up a stereo. Music blasted from its speakers as people dipped, swayed and shimmied to the beat. There were a few bottles of vodka and whiskey set out on the tables, but people seemed to be leaving them alone.

The kitchen was set up with munchies and Joey stood at the indoor grill. He wore a chef’s apron that was no longer pristine white and was singing and dancing. He waved a spatula around in front of him, flipping burgers and dogs, stirring around onions and green peppers. Justin’s eyes went wide with all the food. They had to have been bargaining for weeks to get everything here.

Lance nudged Justin and nodded to where the crowd gathered around Pin the Fang was wandering off. “Wanna?” he asked.

Justin rolled his eyes. “You want to blindfold me,” he said flatly.

“Loosen up, Justin. It’s a game, with a cardboard vampire. This place is warded to the hilt and no real ones are going to get in. Plus you’re with me, which means you’re safe.” Justin hesitated and chewed his bottom lip. “Stop being such a bitch and let me blindfold you,” Lance grumbled as he tugged Justin over.

He picked up the discarded bandana and motioned for Justin to turn around. The change in Justin was almost visible, though Lance wasn’t sure if it was because he knew Justin so well or because it was that much of a change. Whichever, he decided to roll with it and brought his hands up to tie the bandana around Justin’s head before slowly spinning him around.

Justin took two tottering steps forward, then stopped, hand paused mid-air. “What kind of prize do I get if I pin the fang right?” he asked.

Lance came up behind Justin, pressing their bodies together. Slowly, he slid his hands under Justin’s tee shirt and flattened them on Justin’s stomach. Lance dipped his head down and asked quietly, “What do you want?” He chuckled when Justin shivered, then nodded. “Yeah, that’s what I thought. Anything you want, Justin.”
