Busy busy lately. Last Thursday went to a Twins game - first game I've been to since 5th grade when I got my first period while at a game with school. Oh the memories. It was actually a lot more fun that I thought it would be - chatted with Montana and Alisha, kind of watched the game (we lost, so it wasn't as interesting), ate a hotdog. We all went out for ice cream afterwards. I *heart* Sebastian Joe's. Chocolate English Toffee is really good, for future reference.

Friday I worked my butt off at work. I've been slacking so hardcore lately that it was starting to eat away at me, so it felt good to get a lot done. After work I hung out at the house for a bit talking with Andrew and then headed down to Justin's. We were going to go see a movie, but missed the 7-ish showings, so we had dinner and went back to his place to watch tv instead. He's trying to get me addicted to Alias and it's starting to happen. I also started sketching out the first in my Memento Mori series of paintings I have planned - modern still life with classical images of the idea of memento mori ("remember you will die"). I have a pretty good idea of what all I want to do with them, and I'm going to try to some sketches/studies of them before attempting to paint them. The first sketch turned out pretty good, and I have a good start on the layout/positioning of everything. It's a little scary how well I can draw a stapler from memory. *sigh* Anyway, we went to bed kinda early since we were both so tired.

I ended up sleeping until noon, which is so ridiculously late for me, but it felt really good. I borrowed Justin's car and headed over to my house to spend the afternoon. I got some laundry done, and ran a load of dishes. Watched "Who wants to be a superhero" with Andrew, which was incredibly funny, and then we went grocery shopping. Packed up all my painting supplies and laptop and headed back to Justin's. Once he was done with work we headed back into the city to see Brian Balcolm's Fringe play, "How To Cheat". Had dinner at Maxwell's first, and managed to snag seats together back at the theater. Ended up sitting next to Alex Dixon of all people, which was fun. Little mini-south high theater reunion. The play was *really* good. Sharp writing, great performances, good directing. Highly enjoyable. Back to Justin's afterwards for more Alias.

We stayed up far too late and had trouble getting up in the morning. Actually overslept for the start of our gaming session with Seth and company, but they were running late, too, so it was alright. Spent the day roleplaying, with a break mid-day when the power in Ames went out due to a thunderstorm. I think Seth's friend Craig is going to join us, so once he's in, and Justin's friend Dave is in, we'll have people from Iowa, Minnesota, Indiana and Alaska playing, which I think is just really cool. I died twice yesterday, but was brought back just fine, and wasn't the only one who died for once. We made really good progress through the tomb and I feel like I'm starting to finally find my stride as a rouge. Just in time for this run to end. Ah well.

Another busy week - actually, a couple busy weeks coming up. Tonight is creative night over at Justin's where I'll be doing more sketching and he's going to work on his writing. I think we're going to try to do something on Tuesday, too - I'm going to push for a movie. Wednesday is Project Runway night, of course and Thursdays are now gaming with Andrew and Jeremie. Friday is Alisha's birthday party, Saturday during the day I'll be going with Emily to get her tattoo and then either heading out to Ren Fest with Justin to meet his brother and friends, or going to a sci-fi film festival. Next week is the Flaming Lips concert and the State Fair and maybe another baseball game. I'm glad to be this busy, especially since I took Wednesday off and got some cleaning down at the house. I need to do more to get the place in order, but the living room looks really good and we got some art hung up on the walls. I think I can do another load of dishes during lunch and have the kitchen all clean, too. My room is still rather messy, but all the laundry is done at least, and I should be able to get more of it cleaned up on Wednesday.

Ugh, back to work and trying to keep momentum going for getting stuff done. Whee!
