Well all those warm thoughts worked because the snow is gone and the sun was out today. It's still cold, but it was so nice to be able to see the mountains again so clearly. I grew up in Vancouver, where daily I could see the mountains unless it was really, really cloudy and moving here to the burbs has been a bit difficult to adjust to at times. I'm so far away from all the places I used to go whenever the I felt like it, like the Drive (Commericial Drive), Main St. , downtown and even the beaches on the Westside. It's a bit of a journey to get to most of these places and by the time I come back I have no energy to do what I need to do. I can't complain too much because I could live further away where it takes a 2 hr. bus ride in rush hour to even get to the Skytrain (our rapid transit, light rail like cars suspended on tracks mostly in the air with the occasional underground stops.)
I started this post yesterday but for some reason never finished it, the above paragraph was written yesterday. Sadly I'm coming down with some sort of illness yuck! I feel as if I have been hit by a semi. Despite my body feeling absolutely horrible I had a good mail day. I got my last package from my secretpal, Smacked Knitless and it is wickedly fantastic. Also the mailman brought me my first BPAL order and I think I'm in love (i wasn't sure what all the fuss was about, but now I do damn them I bought 3 bottles because the ones I wanted there was no more vials left and they included 6 vials. They smell so yummy and I haven't had an allergic reaction yet. Once I'm feeling human again I'll post more about what I ordered and what I think about it. Got one of my amazon orders, yay knitting books and some more P.C. Cast, I'm slowly getting addicted to fantasy romance novels oh noes!!! Well time for me to go and drink more tea and snuggle up to read because it's hard to type when your body hurts and the energy is being drained out of you.
Reading Goal:
While reading Yarn Harlot's (muggles --non-knitting folk,
click here to find out who this quirky knitting goddess is) she was talking about how she has UFOs (unfinished objects) all over the house, hidden in so many places. One day she decided to collect all these UFOs and while she pondered over the large pile why she had stopped knitting these. The reasons where the normal got sick of the yarn, the pattern, lost the pattern, just plain lost interest, got new yarn in the mail or got new yarn from the yarn shop etc... I realized that I'm like this for books I have so many going at once and many times I don't finish a book; however I'll go onto the next book that I've been dying to read and so on. I hope that I don't get as bad with my knitting as I am with books. I'm hoping that I get my to-read pile and currently reading pile down because I haven't updated my to-read list but it has probably doubled since I last updated and most of those books are sitting in my back room desk in the pile. If my family dares to move/touch/borrow/look at this to-read pile I get really protective of it, think of a dragon protecting her eggs. Not a happy thought, I'm sorry family I LOVE you *big grins* Here's the link to the
lists.

Just finished: Academ's Fury - Jim Butcher 4/5 stars I can't wait till I get my hands on the next book. Butcher has come a long way since his first novel and keeps getting better and better. I really like the world he has created and his interesting take on magic.
Plum Lovin' - Janet Evanovich 2/5 stars I can't help it but this one wasn't up to the normal Stephanie Plum standards I'm used to but hey it's a tiny novella between the number series. The only reason why I continued to listen to this one was because I'm attached to the characters and wanted to know what happened. Maybe there wasn't enough Morelli for me or Ranger for that matter1
Currently reading: Anansi Boys - Neil Gaiman
Fragile Things - Neil Gaiman
Yarn Harlot: The Secret Life of a Knitter - Stephanie Pearl-McPhee (thanks so much
strange_muse) this book is great and making me laugh when I really need the laugh :-)
