The Most Serene Republic seem so pretentious. Maybe their words hit too close to home or something but almost every time I read anything they say in interviews or watch interviews of them I am completely turned off of them as people. Their music is top notch, but they seem so self-important. I wonder if they will "grow up" or if this is just what their personalities are like. I mean, I guess it's mostly just Ryan and maybe Adrian too. It shows up in their lyrics too and Adrian is behind that. Once I hear people talk about how great the past was or how they wish they were born in a different time period or anything similar, it just makes me want to roll my eyes. They're still my first/second favorite band. Maybe.
This is the awesome Why? interview I was talking about before. This is the fruit salad bit he was talking about. This is a relevant fruit. It is pretty lol-hilarious. Um, here's a new Why? song called "Eskimo Snow."
I like it. It does sound like it would be appropriate for Hymie's Basement as yt commenters suggest or even just early Why? like live at Anna's cabin or oaklandazulasylum. Very 2003 I suppose.
TV on the Radio, Why?, Parenthetical Girls, Mother Mother, Estelle, Icy Demons, maybe even Tender Forever, etc. All these bands are going on tour this fall and yes yes I will see them and it will be grand. HSM 3, Harry Potter and the HBP, and Twilight. Which will be the worst film of the year? Which will be so bad that's it's good? Which will be disappointingly mediocre? Next semester sounds good on paper since I don't have all my assignments and duties and meetings yet, but I am going to be so busy this coming semester, so I will always be stressed out. I think I just need to stay positive or w/e. Think yes, happy thoughts, my favorite things.
I saw the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pantaloons 2 tonight. It was ridiculous and the acting was poor, but the guys were cute enough and America was sassy/fierce enough for me to ignore it. I only had seething rage for Amber Tamblyn. Effie looked like a mini-Nora Zehetner. Despite its faults, the movie was very invigorating. It made me giddy with its ridiculousness. I danced instead of walking, and thoroughly embarrassed my sister. All in all, it was a pretty great night.
I finished Fairest by Gail Carson Levine. It does not have the charm of Ella Enchanted and I didn't really connect with the protagonist. Maybe if I had read it in 4th grade, I would like it better. You can borrow it and read for yourself. It's a quick one.
The new member of Rahim is pretty cute in a conventional way and is hopefully nicer than the dude from before. He seemed like a jerk. I like Rahim because they use consistent themes. I love self-referential bands as long as they don't overdo it.
I have never written this much actual thought out text before. I should stop before my brains explodes. It's late anyway.
PS - Here is a video of Rain. Ninja Assassin might not be terrible idk. At least it will look pretty.
