Beyond belief grossed out
I've done a lot of shows in the past two years.
I've done shows at some of Chicago's "so called" best venues. I've done shows at Le Passage, Hot house, Crobar, Park West, Chicago Cultural Center I participated at a show at Metro. . I've done gallery shows, bar clubs, pro-shows. Some good, some bad.
Never, never, have I had such a negative experience as I did tonight at Soundbar. It's so sad because the fluxcore peeps involved worked so hard, the models (with a couple notable yet easily forgettable exceptions) were such great sports, ms. zapevaj was her usual calm, collected and brilliant self, and the photographers did such a great job.
We were shoved into a tiny little storage room that smelled like rotten food, had to go up and down by means of a malfunctioning freight elevator, were given no drinks, treated like crap, yelled at.... I have never come so close to walking out of a show. I usually want to stick out and did this time ONLY because of my friends and these rocking' models.........
The highlight of my evening came when the bouncer grabbed me and shoved me back into a room, since I inadvertently walked into a "no drinks allowed" area with out realizing it, and then when I tried to speak up and ask to be treated with a bit more respect, pushed me again and shut the door in my face. Never mind that he was a fucking foot taller than me (I'm a very intimidating/treatening 5'4) and grabbing me and shoving me was beyond belief uncalled for. Yes, I immediately went to another bouncer and made a complaint. And don't worry it was caught on the security cameras...
I have never ever been treated so badly at a venue, especially when I'm there to provide entertainment, and bring people into the club. dignam what were you thinking? Did I miss something? Was this club ever so great? The music was horrible, the crowd sad yuppie puke heads from hell and the decor average. And I know it's not "I didn't know the right people" because I was with a bunch of people who work with or for this place on a regular basis...
Gross, disgusting. EVIL. Never, ever, ever, ever, ever again will I set foot into that place. Revolting I tell you.
