When's the big 4th of July fireworks in Pittsburgh?

yeah... somthing tells me its going to be very very very hard to get good parking/picnic/sitting spots this weekend

One would, except for the year they moved them to the 3rd of July so they didn't have to pay the police officers overtime.

what bus route do you take to get from oakland to the point? i'm posting this because im too lazy to get on www.ridegold.com

hmm, the only one for certain that comes to mind is the 500. Tho there are several others. Just about any bus running through oakland will take you downtown withing a two minute walk of the point.

To be honest, the point isnt really the best viewpoint to watch the fireworks from. I would highly reccomend the West End Overlook as the best, and would say Mt. Washington as a 2nd.

Just about any elevaed area would offer a great view, but these are the best 2 the city has to offer. Also on the plus side they are never nearly as crowded as the point during the show.

61c goes to oakland to downtown,just get off at a stop and walk to the point,same with the other buses
